NOAH WINTERS

Former and very disgruntled secret agent for the Western Alliance, forced out of the service, who put his many talents as a spy to work – as an international thief.

AVA

Ava is a freewheeling young woman, living for the moment, with no sense of responsibility. Some find this trait maddening, others endearing, but crucially it means she is open-minded to the baffling new experience of the Artefact.

TATE

For Tate, survival is about never letting your guard down. Life is one big chess game to be played 24/7. This attitude has given her a stellar career in the intelligence services, as well as making her numerous enemies. But Tate doesn’t care about being liked or disliked – her eye is always on a higher prize.

VALENTINA ASLANOV

Valentina is a born and bred military woman; generations of her family being members of the Eastern Coalition armed forces. As someone who plays her cards very close to her chest she is secretive, versatile and trained for all aspects of combat. Un surprisingly, she is initially distrustful of “new recruit” Lily Winters.

COMMODORE BRESHNEV

An “old school” master spy and long-time friend of Noah’s. They were forced to collaborate many years ago by circumstances at this point only alluded to in the story. Like Noah, Breshnev has a healthy distrust of Tate.
